Chooks' revenge

Many will be aware of the situation where a local family has been forced to leave their home due to toxic levels of methane rising from a burial pit dug on their property during the 1999 Newcastle Disease eradication campaign.

Word had it that the family did not want the issue publicly discussed while compensation was being negotiated, but now it seems that it will be given an airing on the ABC Stateline program tonight (7.30pm)

We hear that the The Department of Primary Industries has been forced to buy the land.
